What if you lived out the things you dream about? What if you were the best possible version of yourself that you could ever imagine? What if you lived out all the great ideas you have for your life?

What would that look like?

It’s most likely not what you’re doing right now. That’s normal. Setting lofty goals gives you an ideal to reach for.

But achieving that lofty goal is hard as hell.

It means work, dedication, perseverance, patience, and a whole lot of facing your fears. Not everyone’s cup of tea.

But let me pose another question to you:

What if you don’t act on that dream? What if you stay exactly the same? The same as you are now? You never change, you never move forward, you never improve any of your flaws. You distract yourself with diversion after diversion and you continue down the same road you’re on for the rest of your life.

What would that look like?

Think hard about it. It’s an uncomfortable place to go.

My guess is it ain’t so pretty.

No matter what you decide to do, there will always be pain. As the buddhists say, life is suffering.

There is pain in success and there is pain in failure.

The question is, which would you prefer?

Would you prefer the pain of work, perseverance, loneliness, and fear that it takes to achieve what you want?

Or would you prefer the pain of knowing that you never tried, you never achieved, you were content to fail?

They’re both pain. They both hurt like hell.

But one of them will get you a lot closer to that image of a fulfilled life you had. The other is a straight shot chaos and regret.

I’ll let you decide which one you’d prefer.
